Artist Bio

Chun Pan graduated from SUNY/Buffalo with a degree in Molecular Biology and U.C. Berkeley with a degree in Computer Science. In the final semester of his nine year college career, he took a class with the noted film scholar Robin Wood. He finally found his passion and knew he wanted a career in filmmaking.

 

However, he had worked hard on his engineering degree and decided to work as an engineer for a few years. It would be a temporary gig. The temporary gig turned into 20 years.

 

Eventually, on nights and weekends, he took filmmaking classes from various community colleges and film institutes. At the age of 48 he had reached the limits of his endurance and underwent an extremely painful and heartrending career change. He is now pursuing his lifelong dream and is making his first low budget independent film, ‘Whispers from Poland '.

 

Aside from the narrative world, Chun is involved in documentary arena. He has made several films concerning the Iraq antiwar efforts in this country. This includes a film on Cindy Sheehan's effort, in August of 2005, to meet with President Bush in Crawford , TX .

 

He lives in Denver with his wife and daughter.
